    Students whose Japanese proficiency at admission is around A1 level and who aim to pursue higher education in Japan after graduation.
    Course Overview
    Students progress step by step from A1 to B2, developing the Japanese language proficiency required for higher education as well as the ability to learn autonomously and collaboratively. Throughout the two-year program, they build their skills comprehensively to reach the level necessary for admission to universities and other advanced institutions.

  • B One and a half year course
    (starting October)

    Target Students
    Students whose Japanese proficiency at admission is around A2 level and who aim to pursue higher education in Japan after graduation.
    Course Overview
    Students study efficiently from B1 to B2, developing the Japanese language proficiency required for higher education as well as the ability to learn autonomously and collaboratively. Throughout the one-and-a-half-year program, they build their skills comprehensively to reach the level necessary for admission to universities and other advanced institutions.

  • C Short term course
    (admission at any time)

    Target Students
    Students who generally want to increase their Japanese due to either their work or private interest and who do not need to have a visa issued.

Level Learning Objectives
Elementary level
(A1)		 Students learn basic language knowledge and pronunciation, enabling them to express themselves and describe simple situations in short phrases in everyday and school-related contexts. They can understand simple questions and instructions, and manage basic learning tasks such as submitting assignments on time and keeping records organized.
Elementary levelⅡ
(A2)		 Students can exchange necessary information in common daily and school situations, describe their experiences and plans in simple language, and read and write short texts. They are able to create their own study plans based on their goals and engage in learning proactively by checking and completing daily tasks independently.
Low intermediate level
(B1)		 Students can explain their thoughts and experiences with reasons on familiar social and academic topics, and share them with others through writing, presentations, and discussions. They develop foundational skills for higher education, such as researching with materials, listening and taking notes, and reflecting on their learning progress to adjust their study plans for greater effectiveness.
Intermediate level
(B2)		 Students can write reports and give presentations with logical structure on various topics related to higher education and their future fields of study, using different sources and viewpoints. In discussions and collaborative tasks, they can consider and develop others’ ideas deeply, reaching agreements and forming conclusions. They are also able to reflect on their entire learning process and continue studying autonomously toward their goals after entering higher education.

Classes
Placement by Japanese Level
Elementary level
It starts every April. Those who want to take this class are advised to register in time for its beginning.
Required Japanese Language Ability
①Ability to read and write hiragana and katakana
②Ability to understand basic questions and instructions in Japanese
Other Levels
Placed in a class appropriate to the student’s proficiency

Registration is always open.
Necessary documents are:

Remarks
I)　Calculation of the learning period
  1. As for the learning period of those who take the short course for the first time, three months is one unit.
  2. The time from the first day of learning until the last day of the three-month period is one unit.

  3.   If a summer or winter vacation occurs during the three-month period, one month is excluded from the calculation of time regardless of the actual length of the vacation. If a spring vacation occurs during the three-month period, two weeks is excluded from the calculation of time regardless of the actual length of the vacation.  The other holidays are not excluded from the calculation of time.

 


II)　Extension of the learning period
  1. Short course students can apply for an extension of the learning period by submitting an “Application for Extension of the Learning Period (Short Course)” by one week before the end of the short course. Further details are available at the office.

 

III)　Other
  1. We are an educational institution offering Japanese-language classes to those who intend to go to a Japanese college (including a vocational college) or university. Short course students are taught under the same curriculum as those regular students. Therefore, it is essential for prospective students to know, before registration, what is going to be taught and what school events are going to take place during their learning period.
